What will education look like in 10 years? ... a question posed by George Siemens on 29th May



An interesting quesiton. Will changes be great? are educational institutions lagging behind societies needs? or are they being supressed by society and forced into sluggish development and change?

Rollo Carpenter has created 'George' -  a Jabberwacky, a chatterbot created by British programmer Rollo Carpenter.
Its stated aim is to “simulate natural human chat in an interesting,
entertaining and humorous manner”. It is an early attempt at creating
an artificial intelligence through human interaction.

Go online and chat
with George. Don't be surprised if you enjoy your chat; George has already
won a few prizes for ‘the most convincing human interaction'. And this
chatterbot is only getting better. The more people talk to him, the better he
gets at conversation – just like us humans really.

Interesting, hmmm.

Not sure how comfortable I feel talking to a virtual 'friend' ... the technology, thought and design is fantastic though!
